What Female Founders Really Think About Having Kids

Adding data to the conversation, Michelle polled 3,000 of her IG followers to see what they think about pregnancy and their careers.

• 🤰 68% said they were scared to tell employers they were pregnant 🤰

• 💼 86% said they felt starting a family would jeopardy their career 💼

Last year, the Commonwealth Treasury in Aus found that when a hetero couple has kids, women's earnings reduce by an average of 55% in the first 5 years of parenthood.

And the recent winner of the Nobel Prize for Economics, Claudia Goldin of Harvard University, found proof of key drivers which have created the gender gap and differences in gender participation in the labour gap.

So we know that when women take time out of the labour market to have kids, this time away from their careers has long-term consequences for female wages and retirement.

Surely we can improve this for future generations?
