Data Showing the Huge Gender Power Gap

The impressive Swedish gender data firm ExecuShe conducted a study of the S&P 500 companies in 2020, and found that:

  • 💸 In top executive positions, women account for 1/4 of the total number, while controlling just 1% of the value of shares 💸

  • 💸 Male executives held roughly $770 billion worth of shares 💸

  • 💸 Female executives held an estimated $9 billion worth of shares 💸

Never getting over this study….. 🤯

Control over $770B vs $9B…. 💰

“We found a giant gender power gap.” Andreas Hoepner

You can say that again!

We know there are big power imbalances around the world and within many businesses. And we know that gender isn’t the only attribute of diversity on teams, but it provides a good start to showcase which businesses are making an effort to include a wide variety of people on their teams and in leadership positions.

A huge thanks to Women's Agenda, Angela Priestley, Tarla Lambert and Jessie Tu for continuously sharing knowledge and insights around what’s really going on for women in business.
