Carta’s Latest Data Reveals a Gender Gap in Funding

VC downturn hits women founders hardest, with Carta's latest data revealing a stark gender gap in funding (as reported by Business Insider).

More women have received more funding at the seed level (+5%), but overall women-led teams still received < 3% of total venture funds -  the lowest in four years.

There are less women founders overall too - women founders fell from 15% to 13% of total founders - the lowest since 2018

Co-founder and GP at Moxxie Ventures, Katie Jacobs Stanton adds how: “middle of a perfect storm for female founders." 

“In the sector where VCs are most likely to invest in new startups, barely one in 10 new founders was a woman.
